The Codabar must have a leading upper case letter (Start Character A,B,C,D) and a ending upper case letter (Stop Character A,B,C,D), no other letters are allowed in the barcode. You can select if you want to Display Start & Stop Character or not. You will be able to select if you want to Calculate and Display the checksum, the checksum can be included but not shown as human readable text. You will be able to hide the Start and Stop character, that's the A and B in the barcode image above.

Codabar barcode History
Codabar was invented by Pitney Bowes Corp. in 1972. The codabar is mostley used in blood banks, photo labs and libraries. It supports 16 different characters and four start/stop characters (A,B,C,D). There is no established checksum (check digit), if you do not need a checksum for the Codabar then please set calculate checksum to No.
