The EAN-13 is used in retail around the world. Please note that the most common barcode in North America is the UPC-A. The EAN-13 has one Checksum (Check Digit), it's the 13th digit and it's added automatically. EAN-13 also supports the Light Margin Indicator, it's the > at the end of the barcode. The first three (3) digits in the EAN-13 is the EAN barcode country code and also known as the GS1 prefix.

GS1 Recommended size

For the EAN-13 you can use one of the pre-defined sizes 80% to 200%.

For the Retail barcodes, you will be able to set the width and height from 80% to 200%, e.g. ean 13 barcode size is from X-dim from 0.264 mm (0.0104 In.), and 200% is 0.66 mm (0.0259 In.) and height of the bar, from 18.28 mm (0.719 In) to 45.7mm (1.799 In)
