The ISBN + 5 digit supplement is the same as the ISBN including a price tag.

Making a ISBN in Barcode Image Maker Pro. is very flexible, you must fill in at least 9 digit (978 prefix only) or you can fill in the 12 digits (for the 978 and 979 prefix) for the barcode. The old 10 digit ISBN is supported, but will be converted to the new 13 digit ISBN version before it's added to the Barcode List. The last digit (13th digit) is the check sum (check digit) and will be added automatically.

What you always must fill in is the Registration group element and the Registrant element and the Publication element and Barcode Image Maker Pro. will convert this information to a 13 digit ISBN barcode (please note it only works for the ISBN starting with a 978-.)

The different parts of the ISBN.

The first 3 digits are the Prefix element, 978 or 979 can be used. The following digit(s) are the Registration group element and can contain 1 to 5 digits. The next digits (up to 7 digits) are the Registrant element and the next digits (up to 6 digits) are the Publication element and the last digit (1 digit) is the Check sum (Check digit).

When using prefix 978.

In this case (ISBN above) you must fill in 0-11-111222 (or 011111222), as you can see I have not included the check sum (check digit).

When using prefix 979.

Fill in 12 digits and Barcode Image Maker Pro. will fill in 13th digit, the check sum (Check digit).
