Barcode Bearer Bar. 
Please note that only some bar codes supports the Bearer Bar. The Bearer Bar can have two shapes, Horizontal Rules or Frame. Default is None.
Bearer Bar, Horizontal Rules.
To use the Horizontal Rules Bearer Bar Type by clicking on the Horizontal Rules in the Barcode menu.

Bearer Bar, Frame.
To use the Frame Bearer Bar Type by clicking on the Frame in the Barcode menu.
Above you see a barcode including the Frame Bearer Bar.
If you do not have the option in the Barcode menu, then make sure you have selected one of the supported barcodes. Even though it also shows for none supported barcode types, but the Bearer Bar will not be added for those barcodes.
"For printing methods requiring printing plates, the nominal Bearer Bar has a constant thickness of 4.83mm (0.190 In) and must completely surround the bar code, including its Quiet Zones and butt directly against the top and bottom of the symbol
bars.
For printing methods that do not require printing plates, the Bearer Bar only needs to be applied to the top and bottom of the bar code. Make the Bearer Bar a minimum of two times the X-dimension (width of the narrow bar)." - GS1
By default two times the X-Dim is used. Activate Bearer Bar in the Barcode menu (not supported by all barcodes)
Bearer bar width can be set manually in the Manual barcode settings panel.
