Using the barcode image.
The barcode saved as a TIF looks great in Photoshop and so does the other file formats supported and you could also use a Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps), but Photoshop will convert it to a bitmap, both RGB and CMYK can be used. Any image format will work, please note that Enhanced MetaFile (*.emf) is NOT supported by Photoshop.
Convert a Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) to bitmap.
Photoshop is able to open a Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps), but please note that it will convert the Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) to a bitmap.
In Photoshop click on the File menu and then click on Open (Ctrl+O), select the Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) file.
Please do not use Resolution 72 pixels/inch (72dpi) as you will never get the bar code to scan. It's recommended to use the same resolution as the printer you are going to print on, that's why it's recommended to use a vector image(Enhanced MetaFile and Encapsulated PostScript) as it will always be printed at the highest possible resolution (can be used in InDesign and Illustrator). The converted Encapsulated PostScript image looks great in photoshop.
Rotate a barcode in photoshop.
You will be able to rotate the image in Adobe photoshop, click on the Image menu and the go to Image Rotation click on Arbitrary... or just use 90 CW or 90 CCW
and the box below will show, here you can rotate the image Clockwise (CW) or Counter Clockwise (CCW)
90 CCW (Counter Clockwise) have been selected, click on OK and the barcode will be rotated 90 degrees.
Using a high resolution TIF in Photoshop.
One important thing to notice when using a high resolution TIF is that the resolution of the barcode image and the resolution of the bitmap you are going to paste it into must have the same resolution (dpi). If you paste a 1200 dpi barcode TIF image into a 96 dpi bitmap design, you will have a very big barcode, the ration is 12.5 / 1 (the barcode is 12.5 times the size of the 96dpi).
