Barcode Light Margin Indicator.

The Light Margin Indicator is the > at the end of the barcode (EAN-8 and EAN-Velocity and JAN-8, also have a starting < ), it's only supported by EAN, JAN, ISSN, ISBN, ISMN barcodes. It's recommended that you use the light margin indicator, but majority of bar code doesn't have the light margin indicaor added.

If you do not have the option in the Barcode menu, then make sure you have selected one of the supported barcodes. Even though it also shows for the UPC barcodes, it's not supported by the UPC barcode.
