Recommended barcode size. 
You don't know the barcode size ?, well you don't need to when you use Barcode Image Maker Pro as the barcode height requirements and barcode bar width requirements have been predefined for you. But if you would like to change the height or bar width you will be able too. More information about barcode sizes millimeters (Online manual) or barcode sizes in inches.
Barcode Image Maker Pro is the only software solution that I know of that includes the GS1 recommended barcode size option and easy access. just set it and you will have the size needed.
UPC, EAN, JAN, ISBN, ISMN, ISSN barcode size
The UPC, EAN, JAN, ISBN, ISMN, ISSN can all have the recommended barcode size set, by using this option in the toolbar. The 100% is the default. The recommendation is to use the 100% height, but most designers today use many different heights, so some other than 100% have been included..

To the right you can see the different sizes, the smallest, 80% and the Default at 100% and last the max. size of 200%.

GS1-128 (UCC/EAN-128) settings.
The GS1-128 (UCC/EAN-128), SCC-14, SSCC-18 recommended barcode size settings are also available, all you need to do is to select it from the toolbar.
Recommended barcode Height is 32 mm (1.26 Inches), the width depends on the number of characters used for the barcode, but the x-dim (bar width) starts at 0.254mm (0.01 Inches), that's at 25% and all the way up to 1.016mm (0.04 Inches).

ITF-14
The ITF-14 recommended barcode size is by default 100%, but can be set from 25% to 100%. the 25% have a barcode x dimension (barcode bar width) of 0.25 mm (0,0098 Inches) and the 100% is 1.016 (0.04 Inches). Barcode height is 13 mm or 32 mm (0.5118 In or 1.2598 In)

X-dim (bar width) start at 0.19mm (0.0075 In) and a max. 1.02 mm (0.04016 In) at Bar height starts at 10%, that's 1.60 mm (0.06299 In) and the 100% barcode height is 32 mm (1.259843 In).

Manual barcode settings. 
When you click on the above icon the 'Manual Barcode Settings' and all the areas used by the Manual Barcode size Settings will turn light yellow to show you what's active, it will turn back to the same color as you use in windows.
'Fill in / Use settings for the barcode' will be checked (if you click on the above icon), please look at the image below. If the text boxes for the Bar width (x-dim) and others are disabled / grayed out, then please check the 'Fill in / Use settings for the barcode'
In the barcode I have filled in 0.508 mm (0.02 Inches) in the Barcode Bar Width (X-dim) and the bars are now wider, please note that the Barcode Bar Width (barcode x dimension, x-dim) is for one bar and not for the total barcode width. Please look at the image below. Please note that you will be able to use Inches or Millimetres.
In the barcode above I used 0.508 mm (0.02 Inches) in the Bar Width (barcode x dimension, X-dim) and the bars are now wider. Please note that the same barcode below is 0.254 mm (0.01 Inches), look at the image below. The Bar Height have also been set to 20 mm (0.7874 Inches).
