Sequential barcoding. video clip online manual

Sequential barcoding is one of the advanced features in Code Barcode Maker Pro. Below you will be able to see how it could be done, but please read the PDF manual and/or help file, online manual for more information.

Sequential Code 39 barcode

Select Code 39 barcode in Select Barcode in the Sequential TAB. Please look at the image below.

Code 39 barcode Select

The green text shows what is supported by the barcode and the red shows what's not supported by the barcode. Please look at the image above. Please also note that the Code 39 barcode is not the most compact barcode, use the Code 128 barcode if the sapce is limited.

In Sequential [NUM1] fill in as shown in the image below.

Code 39 barcode NUM1 start Sequential barcoding

Now we are going to make the sequence, [NUM1][NUM2] Sequence, please look at the image below.

Code 39 Sequnce

As you can see above we only use the [NUM1], but you will be able to use it more than one time if you need to. The above sequence will look like this. A starting [NUM1], that's a 1 and then BARCODE will be added and last [NUM1] again, that's a 1, so it looks like this 1BARCODE1, a total of 33 will be made.

In the image below you can see the Barcode List. The barcodes in the Barcode List can be saved as a barcode image / vector barcode or why not barcode printing on labels.

Code 39 barcode in the Barcode List

A checksum (check digit) may be added when you save the barcode image. You will be able to change som of the settings for the barcode, more information here Show/Hide/Remove checksum

As you can see above int's very easy to use the Sequential barcoding and it works with any barcode supported by the barcode software.

Sequential Code 128 barcode

Select Code 128 barcode in Select Barcode in the Sequential TAB. Please look at the image below.

Code 128 barcode Select Barcode

The green text shows what is supported by the barcode and the red shows what's not supported by the barcode, the Code 128 barcode supports just about anything. Please look at the image above.

In Sequential [NUM1] fill in as shown in the image below.

Code 128 barcode NUM1

As you can see in the above image, 'Add leading Zeros to Start' have been checked, so now the first digit will be 01.

In Sequential [NUM2] fill in as shown in the image below.

Code 128 NUM2

As you can see in the above image, 'Add leading Zeros to Start' have been checked, so now the first digit will be 01.

Now we are going to make the sequence, please look at the image below.

Code 128 Sequence

As the Code 128 barcode supports ASCII function codes (Control Char) it can also be used in the sequence, in this case [LF], that's Line Feed. The sequence looks like this, the first one will be [NUM2], that's a 01 and then text will be added and then [NUM1], that's 01 and last the ASCII function code [LF] will be added, so it's 01text01[LF]. All ASCII function codes can be found in the PDF Manual and/or Help file or Online manual.

In the image below you can see the Barcode List. The barcodes in the Barcode List can be saved as a barcode image / vector barcode or why not barcode printing on labels.

The best barcode software ?

We do think Code Barcode Maker Pro is the best barcode software as it has a lot of features not available in other barcode software titles. Most uses barcode fonts, we don't as we want you to have full control of the barcode. Code Barcode Maker Pro supports GS1 recommended size settings, one click access, don't know of any barcode software with this option. You wan't to make changes to the barcode yourself ?, no problem, just use Manual barcode settings and many other functions, more Code Barcode Maker Pro information here and you will be able to download and try the barcode software for 30 days.

Warning iconIf you get a '(sequential) Error: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow Error Code: 6' read this

The problem is that you fill in all the digits for the barcode into Start and Stop, you should only fill in the digits that is used for counting and all other digits should be filled in, in the [NUM1][NUM2] Sequence e.g.

You want to make the sequence 10000000010 to 10000000099. As you can see most of the digits are the same 10000000010 to 10000000099, so here is how you should do it.

[NUM1]
Start: 10
Stop: 99
Step: 1

In [NUM1][NUM2] Sequence
100000000[NUM1]

Click on the Make Sequential button and now you will not get the Error Code 6
